I was inspired by Sweatcoin, which is an app that rewards you for walking.
Sleepwell gives you points for sleeping, which you can then use to redeem rewards. You tell it how many hours you slept, and it will give you points accordingly(10 per hour slept). You can use these points to get rewards like tech or gift cards.
This was the first coded project I've ever made. I used HTML, replit, and caret.
There were a lot of challenges. I wanted you to be able to put the times you went to bed and woke up in and the website would calculate the hours slept for you, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. The images on the Rewards page weren't showing up, which I didn't have time to fix. I didn't understand how to make the points system work and ran out of time.
I'm proud of the whole website since it's my first coding project and hackathon ever.
I learned a lot about coding and debugging. This Hackathon was also a very fun experience.
Although I think SleepWell is a good idea, I will probably never make it a real thing for several reasons. First, I don't have the money for that. Second, it would be really easy to cheat and get rewards quickly. If I were to keep working on this, I would make it into an app because I think that is easier and more accessible for people. I would also have it connect to Apple Fitness so that the hours you slept would automatically be inputed and you (probably) couldn't cheat. Additionally, I would improve the UX/UI.
