What it does

  1. By playing the game, the user can select what they desire to organize their ideal sleepover. However, there is a restriction for the budget. The user will choose whatever item they want and at the end of the game, it will show if they went over their budget. The app serves to inform the user on the importance of being able to stay within the budget when preparing for a party and that there is an opportunity cost when we desire something.

How we built it

  1. We developed the app through using android studio to compile and edit the overall look and development process. To store user information we used SQ Lite which is done through Java and stores any information the user inputs as well as their choices. To create images, our team worked together to create personal images for the app using sites such as procreate and affinity photo. ## Challenges we ran into
  2. We all learned new programs so it took extra time to really understand and find the basic skills we needed for certain aspects of the app
  3. We had a time limit which caused issues in ensuring we got everything we wanted finished by the submissions time
  4. A virtual learning environment meant learning new strategies and ways to communicate our ideas ## Accomplishments that we're proud of
  5. This event was all of our first hackathons and it was also fully virtual which provided a large learning curve ## What we learned
  6. We learned how to use a new integrated development environment for Google's Android operating system through this hackathon. Although we were not familiar with the platform, the hackathon gave us a great opportunity to learn more about this software for android development by watching tutorials on Youtube. We were able to familiarize ourselves with the program and create the app SleepObudget

What's next for SleepObudget

1.Turtoise Tax teaching material can expand further by teaching more on investment and loan, such as the concept of interest, principal, period, futur value, present value and much more. The time
