Inspiration

We feel that because of the covid situation, there has been lesser channel where people is able to vent their emotions as there are many activities that we could not do. This led to us to think of our idea where we can give people a platform to write down their thoughts in a journal as a mean to express their emotion. Also, we believe that the key to mental wellness is mental awareness which is why we wanted to have different colour dots displayed on user's journal after writing an entry for them to keep track of their emotions over a month as each coloured dot represent a certain emotion that user experienced on that day.

What it does

First of all, as a journal app, it allows them to vent their emotions by writing down their thoughts for the day instead of bottling their emotions. Secondly, they are able to see their emotions through a month and if they are going through a rut (lots of red in a period of day) then they would know that they should seek help from friends/family/medical professionals.

What we learned

Through our research, we feel that reflection plays a big part in ensuring one has a good mental health. Bad mental health usually come as a result of people letting their feelings coming into their decision process. In a state of anger, one may get into an argument/fight with someone to prove his point and vent out his emotion and this may lead to a bad relationship with someone. However, if the person did think through his action, he may have wanted to avoid the conflict and tries other means that can still maintain a relationship. This is why we wanted to have a journal app to help people to be reflective and increase their mental awareness so that at least before they get into a conflict, they will think twice of the consequence. Spread love, less Hatred. Period.
