Inspiration

We thought of daily problems that we can solve with FLIR. Two of the problems we thought of were baby safety and sleep statistics.

What it does

The working app as of the end of the hackathon is a baby monitor that warns the parent when a baby's temperature goes above average safety range. It can graph the max temperature, which will correspond to the baby's face. If the baby's facial temperature raises or lowers to 3 degrees about the average, it will set the alarm and notify the parent.

How we built it

We built it using Android and FLIR SDK.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a lot of troubles using the FLIR SDK and we solved it with a LOT of support from the FLIR devs.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We got everything to work within a very short span of 36 hours! It's not fully functional and it's not very pretty, but it works and that's amazing.

What we learned

A great idea can make a big difference in the passion for creating the project. We really felt passionate about making the project work because it is very practical and very cool.

What's next for Sleep Safe

Submit the app to the appstore if it's well reviewed. Consider it revising the project to make it marketable.
