My Inspiration
What inspired me to make Sleep Fixer was my own difficulties with sleep, as well as seeing friends and people online share the same challenges. Whether it be not being able to wake up refreshed on time or not being able to sleep early enough.
After trying many sleep apps, I found many of them tracked sleep but did nothing to help the user actually fix the problems they faced. I suppose they were good for people interested in knowing more about their sleep but not for those like me who were struggling.
Unable to find a sleep app that truly helped, I decided to use the knowledge I had gathered from my own experience and create a system to help others in their journey to better sleep.
About Sleep Fixer
Sleep Fixer is built with sleep science in mind to guide you to better sleep schedules. It takes your current sleep time and slowly helps you shift it towards your ideal sleep time.
For instance, this helps ease a return from a long night of staying up from studying, working, or partying, back to a schedule sustainable for our health and daily lives. Moreover, Sleep Fixer, with its gentle 15 to 30 minute per day plans, does so in a way that helps maximize how efficiently this happens. This helps avoid drastic sleep schedule shifts that affect our health and circadian rhythms in many ways.
With a little touch of AI context injection (by telling the AI your sleep times), we can leverage its analytical capability to provide insights that help us with our understanding of our sleep. Also, AI reminders with personalized nudges keep us on track with our sleep goals.
It may sound simple, but this gentle shift alone can have drastic effects on one’s life. Overall, Sleep Fixer aims to help everyone achieve healthy sleep and bring a mini sleep clinic to you. (Waking up more refreshed leads to better mornings and better days, not to mention sleep’s effects on our health and wellbeing itself.)
Having gotten feedback containing many valuable insights, I am working on improving my idea to fulfill Sleep Fixer’s goal of helping everyone sleep better. One such piece of feedback was from adults who told me they were waking up in the middle of the night, sometimes unable to go back to sleep. I hope to research the science behind this and build a system as I did for myself to help them soon.
