Inspiration

Career paths are no longer always linear. Many people are developers, designers, creators, founders, researchers, consultants, or learners at the same time. Yet most career tools still assume that a person should choose one title and follow one path.

We built Slashing.one for people whose ambitions, skills, and interests do not fit into a single box.

The name comes from the idea of a slash career: one person can be a developer / designer / creator / entrepreneur, with several identities and directions that can complement each other.

What it does

Slashing.one is an AI-powered career copilot for multi-passionate people.

It helps users make sense of their skills, interests, experiences, and ambitions, then transforms them into personalized career possibilities and actionable next steps.

Instead of asking:

“What is the one job I should do?”

Slashing.one helps users explore questions such as:

  • What career paths fit my profile?
  • How can my different skills connect?
  • Which opportunities should I prioritize?
  • What should I learn or build next?
  • How can I pursue multiple interests without losing direction?

The goal is to help one person explore multiple possible paths while maintaining a coherent professional identity.

How we built it

We designed Slashing.one around an AI-guided experience that understands a user's background, interests, skills, and goals.

The product combines:

  • Conversational AI for understanding the user
  • Structured profiles for skills, interests, and experience
  • Personalized career-path generation
  • AI-powered recommendations and next steps
  • A simple interface for exploring multiple possibilities

OpenAI models are used to turn unstructured personal context into useful, structured, and personalized guidance.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was designing an experience that embraces complexity without overwhelming the user.

Multi-passionate people can have many possible directions. Simply generating more options is not enough. The real challenge is helping users understand how those options connect and which actions are most relevant.

We also had to balance open-ended AI conversations with structured outputs so that the experience remains personal while still producing clear and actionable results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building a product concept that treats having multiple ambitions as a strength rather than a problem.

Slashing.one reframes career exploration from:

“Choose one thing.”

to:

“Understand how your different paths can work together.”

We are also proud of creating a clear identity around the / symbol, representing the different roles, interests, and paths that can coexist within one person.

What we learned

We learned that the most useful AI career tools should not make decisions for people. They should help people understand themselves, discover possibilities, and make better-informed decisions.

We also learned that useful personalization requires more than a single prompt. Good guidance comes from combining context, structure, conversation, and actionable recommendations.

What's next for Slashing.one

Next, we want to expand Slashing.one with:

  • Personalized long-term career roadmaps
  • Skill-gap analysis
  • Learning and project recommendations
  • Opportunity matching
  • Persistent understanding of a user's evolving goals
  • Connections between complementary career paths
  • Community features for multi-passionate people

Our long-term vision is to make Slashing.one the operating system for a multi-path career.
