Clippy Remastered

Inspiration

Have you ever tried to find a slack message but... just couldn't? Many struggle with Slack’s native search when they need to recall past conversations, decisions, or technical discussions. Clippy Remastered makes all of this information instantly accessible within your workspace!

What it does

Clippy Remastered integrates the power of AI into Slack search. You'll be able to find messages without the struggle of remembering precisely what was said.

How we built it

We used Typescript with Express and Node.js to make our Slack bot. The database is powered by drizzle-orm and PostgreSQL to store thread history and user metadata. GPT-4o is the model that powers all of Clippy's AI features, and the Slack API is responsible for all of our integration with Slack.

Challenges we ran into

GPT-4o doesn't support web search, and 4o-mini doesn't support our tooling. This led us to develop our own embedded search to allow this functionality for Clippy.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our multimodal search- Clippy is able to process both text and audio to best find what you're looking for!

What's next for Clippy Remastered

We would like to implement more developer specific tools- like integration with codebases to help support developers implement feedback and requests directly from Slack.
