Problem

Property owners, real estate companies, and municipalities cannot monetize and fluidly trade air rights. It is a very opaque market, with no competition from web2 or crypto players.

Solution

SkyTrade brings air space rights on-chain and makes it easy to trade. It is a tokenized property air rights marketplace enabling trade, speculation, and rental of low-altitude airspace. Property owners own the air space up to 500 feet above their property. This market is largely B2B between real estate companies, property developers, and investors with a TAM of $30T. SkyTrade has a call option on the drone industry, which is set to be worth $450B.

Vision

SkyTrade will be the largest air rights marketplace globally, with the second-order effect of being the largest property ownership registry on-chain. SkyTrade is bringing the air rights marketplace to crypto communities and opening the skies to low-altitude drone delivery. This will transform the property and transportation markets, grow wealth and deliver passive income to benefit all our communities.

What it does

As part of the hackathon, we focused on the subproject that gathers data points from real-world real estate transactions, aggregates them, and calculates the pricing model for air rights across the globe.

How we built it

We use proprietary API and data storage processes to model the air-rights prices.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is the first known data feed that tries to reflect the prices of this underutilized real-estate asset.

What's next for SkyTrade Air Rights Data Feed

We are very early; we plan to work more on tailoring our API to the needs of various participants in the real estate ecosystem and offering the data feed as a commercial package.
