Inspiration
Enable very easy destination choices.
What it does
Keeps track of past flights, gives suggestions for new flights, shows flight paths, shows heat maps of most popular places.
How we built it
Front end using a combination using javascript, html, css, and react. We used MongoDB on the backend to store user info, and using python to analyze flight data.
Challenges we ran into
We had several challenges figuring how to use ESRI and American Airlines APIs, several issues with MongoDB Atlas, eventually switching to MongoDB local. We also had trouble integrating all the different things we
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of the goals we set and reached as a team. We wanted to make travel easier while providing nice visualizations, and I'm proud that we were able to complete our demo in such a short amount of time (although on very little sleep). I'm also proud of what we did with Twilio, Google Cloud and Domain.Com.
What we learned
We learned how to use ESRI APIs, how to use MongoDB, how to use American Airlines Engine API, and we also learned to work on an ambitious project with such a short amount of time.
What's next for Skyrt
There is a lot of room to scale the application. We reached our objectives that we set at the beginning of the competition, but we also see adding options for personalizing restaurants and developing a neural network for new flights paths and vacation spots.
