Inspiration
Researchers, developers, engineers have to stay up to date with the latest and upcoming changes their fields. But they not always have the time to do so, or they might not want to be distracted from their work. These people usually work in groups or alone and what a better way to make learning more accessible than to add a chatbot that pitches you newest research publications on the relevant topics to your field.
What it does
The bot keeps track of your conversations in a group chat, recognizes the field of expertise for the involved people. Bot cross-references scientific publication databases to see if there are relevant publications that it would like to share with it's buddies. You can also whisper bot asking it to look up some topics.
How we built it
We built it with hard work and unicorn tears.
Challenges we ran into
We didn't give enough attention before the event and should've familiarized ourselves with the frameworks and APIs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It actually works very well and has beyond limitless potential in application.
What we learned
We learned to build bots and to build intelligent bots.
What's next for skypewise
He'll be introduced to more databases for cross-referencing information and topics. And will gain an evaluation function to prioritize the topics and sources. In the future SkypeWise will also remember topics he already linked to you to avoid repetitive shares.
