Cybersecurity:
We employ asymmetric key protocols with a "certificate authority" that manages a single private key, ensuring secure communication and authentication between the transponder and the interrogator.
This integration of technologies and expertise has allowed us to develop a reliable and secure drone identification tool.
Challenges we ran into
The primary challenges faced include ensuring the system's resistance to spoofing and RF jamming, integrating the tool seamlessly into military operations, and addressing potential security vulnerabilities. During development, we encountered several challenges, including fitting all components into a small configuration, addressing various cybersecurity issues, and creating a robust frame for the device. On the business side, finding relevant connections proved to be a significant challenge as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have successfully developed a functional prototype that is both cost-effective and operationally feasible. We have initiated field testing and engaged with military contacts to gather feedback. Additionally, our ability to collaborate and leverage each member's unique skills has been a significant accomplishment, positioning SkyMark as a promising solution in the defense sector.
What we learned
We learned the importance of rigorous testing and validation to ensure the system's reliability and security. We also gained insights into the defense market's needs and the complexities involved in bringing a new technology to this sector. The feedback from military personnel highlighted the practical challenges soldiers face, reinforcing the tool's potential impact.
What's next for Skymark
Skymark's plans to finalize the product through extensive field testing and validation, reduce manufacturing costs, and establish connections with key military and defense organizations. We aim to secure patents for their technology and expand their market reach through strategic partnerships and funding. We will also continue to refine their go-to-market strategy and seek additional support to navigate the defense industry's regulatory and operational complexities.
