Inspiration
As avid coffee lovers + university students our local coffee shops serve as comfort spaces from leisure to work. We want to contribute to the family of businesses that aspire to expand while still keeping their homely environment.
What it does
Have you ever lost your punch card? Well, do not worry, we have a solution! The app holds your virtual punch cards that promote the incentive of "coming back" to the shop. We plan to implement these punch cards to local coffee shops in our area by keeping track of cafe purchases and accounting for frequently visited shops and what small businesses exist near you.
How we built it
To build this app we used Apple's XCode IDE and SwiftUI.
Challenges we ran into
When implementing the app and updating your virtual punch card, there is a QR code that allows the business to update your punch card on the app as well as in their system. It then should increase the counter on the homepage of our app, which updates the cafe amount, you have left in your punch cards for those businesses.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning a new language. Understanding the developments and design of app implementation transitions that go into small details
What we learned
We have learned how to use XCode and operate with the language Swift.
What's next for Skyline Sips
Being able to reach it and not only help grow these small businesses but also in any other technologically lacking aspect that the company needs. As well as expanding the targeted audience to not just UIC students, but also other college students across the Chicago land area.
