Inspiration

With the rapid rise of drone deliveries and eVTOLs, our cities' low-altitude airspace is becoming increasingly congested. Currently, there is no unified "operating system" to manage this chaos. We were inspired by the need for a centralized digital infrastructure—much like air traffic control for the sky—to ensure that the low-altitude economy can scale safely without turning our skies into the Wild West.

What it does

这是一套专为 SkyHub Nexus 量身定制的 Hackathon (黑客松) 或项目路演文案(Devpost 风格)。

这套文案强调了痛点解决、技术整合以及低空经济(LAE)的前沿性。

What it does

SkyHub Nexus is an integrated UTM (UAV Traffic Management) platform that acts as the central nervous system for low-altitude airspace. It provides: Real-time Deconfliction: Prevents mid-air collisions by dynamically managing flight paths. Dynamic Geofencing: Automatically updates no-fly zones based on real-time events (e.g., wildfires, VIP movements). Unified Dashboard: Offers operators and regulators a single pane of glass for monitoring fleet status, weather conditions, and airspace density.

Dynamic Geofencing: Automatically updates no-fly zones based on real-time events (e.g., wildfires, VIP movements). Unified Dashboard: Offers operators and regulators a single pane of glass for monitoring fleet status, weather conditions, and airspace density. How we built it

We built SkyHub Nexus using a modern microservices architecture: Backend: Developed with Python (FastAPI) for high-performance async handling of telemetry data, and Node.js for real-time messaging. Frontend: Built a responsive dashboard using React and Mapbox GL JS for visualizing complex airspace data. Data & AI: Utilized Redis for in-memory data caching and TensorFlow to predict airspace congestion patterns. Infrastructure: Deployed on AWS using Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes for scalability.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was processing high-frequency telemetry data from hundreds of simulated drones with minimal latency. Ensuring data consistency during peak load was difficult. Additionally, integrating diverse data sources (weather APIs, legacy ADS-B data, and live IoT sensors) required us to design a highly flexible data ingestion pipeline.## Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

We are incredibly proud of achieving sub-100ms latency in our collision avoidance alerts. Seeing 500+ virtual drones operating simultaneously in our simulation without a single conflict was a major milestone. Furthermore, we successfully implemented a clean, intuitive UI that simplifies complex airspace management for non-technical users.

What's next for SkyHub Nexus

BVLOS Integration: Expanding capabilities to support Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations, which is crucial for long-range logistics. Digital Twin: Creating a high-fidelity digital twin of urban environments to simulate noise pollution and visual impact. Blockchain Identity: Implementing decentralized digital identities (DIDs) for drones to enhance security and traceability. Pilot Programs: Partnering with local municipalities to run pilot programs for emergency medical deliveries and infrastructure inspection.
