Inspiration
We decided to create this project because a lot of people are uninformed of what others face, and make comments that, while the intention was not malicious, may negatively impact a person of lower privilege. The goal of the site is to combat this.
What it does
Our program is an informative website, meant to educate and teach others in a fun, interactive way about privilege in society.
How I built it
This was built using HTML, CSS, and javascript
Challenges I ran into
Our team was very inexperienced, so the whole day was a large learning experience and we were all really outside of our comfort zones. Some of the large challenges we faced was having multiple people who created different files. The majority of the group was unfamiliar with GIT, so we were unable to use that and instead needed to email files back and forth.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are proud that we were able to produce a website that actually functions and looks decent in such a short period of time. It was also an amazing experience getting to work on a team with people we have never met in person before, and at first we were all unsure of how to act, however it was a huge accomplishment to be familiar enough with each other to come together and produce this!
What I learned
We learned so much from each other. A few members of the group were more experienced in CSS and used and taught the others about it, while others did the same with javascript. The group also was introduced to Bootstrap, which was really interesting and helpful.
