Inspiration

As a team, we had a passion for environmental change and the climate crisis. We noticed the small everyday decisions in businesses that occurred and led to the changing world we see today.

What it does

SkyFreight calculates the carbon footprint of shipping through different modes of transport while also providing specific costs.

How we built it

Our web tool was built with Python and supported with Streamlit and Pandas.

Challenges we ran into

In the beginning, our team was deeply passionate across different domains, so it was difficult to quickly narrow down on a topic. We also were eager to attend workshops and activities, which made time management a key challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of addressing a problem that many businesses do not even realize they face and finishing a tool that potentially resolves this issue.

What we learned

We learned the underlying impacts of the decisions made in the workforce on the environment.

What's next for SkyFreight

We would have enhanced more of the user experience through different features, such as a map to display routes.
