🌍 Inspiration

Inspired by the daring spirit of the first aviators who redefined travel and cultural exchange, Crew Manifest captures that same sense of exploration and ambition. Players step into a world where teamwork, timing, and strategy make history.

🎮 What It Does

Crew Manifest is a social, team-based race against time. Players compete to assemble the highest-ranking flight crew by finding, collecting, and assigning crewmates hidden throughout the world. Each replayable loop challenges players to decide when to rush, when to upgrade, and when to call “Flight!”

🧠 How We Built It

We built Crew Manifest using a blend of traditional design and AI-driven production workflows. The Worlds Desktop Editor Assistant enabled rapid world-building. Historical artifacts and props were generated using the 3D Model Generator, allowing us to recreate authentic 1920s aesthetics. For atmosphere, the AI Ambient Audio Generator composed adaptive soundscapes — merging engine roars and street motifs to evoke the excitement of early aviation. These tools empowered our team to iterate faster and focus on player experience.

⚙️ Challenges

Our team, experienced in Unity, had to adapt quickly to the Meta Worlds environment. We encountered challenges configuring VS Code integration, syncing variable data across players, and managing entity ownership between players and NPCs. UI customization required excessive coding for simple behavior changes. Player spawning logic also varied between test and published builds, occasionally disrupting gameplay flow.

🏆 Accomplishments

Delivering our first mobile multiplayer experience was a major milestone. Mechanics like grabbing game objects from other players brought humor and tension to every match.

📚 What We Learned & What’s Next

We learned the value of agile, collaborative iteration and careful AI integration. Next, we’ll expand the game with new obstacles, lock systems, and lighting effects to influence gameplay — ensuring a seamless experience across mobile and VR.
