Inspiration

Navigating through automated voices and complex prompts to get in touch with a live agent for my healthcare insurance has always been a 30-minute ordeal. It's not just annoying; it's time-consuming and counterproductive. This frustration led to the birth of "Skip to a Human."

What it does

"Skip to a Human" streamlines the process of getting in touch with customer service representatives. Users simply input the customer service number they're trying to reach, and our app bypasses the automated IVR systems, directly connecting them to a human being.

How we built it

We used Python for backend logic, focusing on algorithmic routing to find the most efficient way to skip IVR steps. For the front-end, we employed React Native to create a user-friendly interface that's both intuitive and visually appealing.

Challenges we ran into

The primary challenge was understanding the various IVR systems of different companies and creating a universally applicable solution. We also had to ensure that our app complies with privacy and telecommunications regulations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We've successfully streamlined the process of getting to a human operator, reducing the wait time to almost zero for our test users. Additionally, we've managed to create an app that is not just functional but also user-friendly.
