BEGINNER team

Inspiration—We were inspired to have our project revolve around space because it is infinite and has no end. Learning about space really adds to your knowledge about the place we live in. You can always learn more about space, and it never gets boring because there are so many interesting facts about our universe and other galaxies around us, not just the Milky Way, which is the one that we are currently in.

What it does—Our project is an online educational game website that we made to encourage a younger audience to learn more about our galaxy and our universe. We made a couple of planets in our universe move around across the page. The goal of our learning game is to teach students how the planets in our galaxy look and their scientific names.

How we built it - We used p5.js web editor which is a coding platform that uses our familiar advanced coding language, JavaScript. We thought that this platform would be ideal to create our educational game. Some of the members in our group learned how to use this coding platform from school classes.

Challenges we ran into - Brackets. We often made a code and forgot where to put and add the brackets. Focus - Oftentimes after sitting down our focus would start to wander and we would end up off track and not doing the work we needed to do. Communication - We had trouble all being able to access one coding document, leading to a slower working process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - We had many different accomplishments that we are proud of including teamwork and collaboration. We are also proud that we were able to put together a creation that would be fun and educational.

What we learned - We learned different codes and ways to make other websites. We also learned how to collaborate efficiently split the work into different sections and divide the work between different people based on their level and strengths.

What's next for Planetron - Our next step is to try to program our game to make it a real game so that our audience can have fun while studying the glory of our planets.
