The inspiration behind SkinSmart AI came from a common problem: choosing the right skincare and makeup products is confusing. Everyone has different skin types and concerns, but many people struggle to understand which products are suitable for them.
I wanted to create a simple, AI-powered platform that could make skincare and beauty shopping smarter, easier, and more personalized.
What It Does
SkinSmart AI is a smart skincare and beauty assistant designed to help users explore personalized skincare recommendations and makeup options.
The platform includes:
- Skin photo upload interface.
- Skin type selection.
- Personalized skincare product suggestions.
- Product and price comparison interface.
- Lipstick shade matcher.
- Foundation shade guide.
- Responsive and user-friendly design.
The project is designed to bring skin analysis, beauty recommendations, and smarter shopping together in one place.
How I Built It
I developed SkinSmart AI as a web-based application with a responsive frontend and a separate backend.
The frontend provides the user interface for uploading skin images, exploring recommendations, and discovering beauty products.
For the backend, I used Cloudflare Workers to create a serverless API endpoint. I also prepared a YouCam Skin Analysis API integration using a secure API key stored as an environment variable.
The project is designed to use AI-powered skin analysis to support personalized beauty recommendations.
