Inspiration
We were amazed when we found out that around 800M (around 10% of the global population) people have some sort of problem when it comes to allergies regarding skin care products and this number is increasing. we tried to look for solutions that a person can keep track of their skincare routine and more specifically the products they test or use and we couldn't find some viable solutions.
What it does
Our app keeps track of a person reaction to specific skincare products used and gathers the data in order to find out what ingredients are causing some sort of allergies and in the end recommends personalized and specific products for the need of that person. The app will understand based on the taken photos how a particular skin reacts to the products used.
How we built it
Gathering user research data and creating the designs and prototypes in Figma. Firebase and Firestore for backend. iOS native for frontend.
Challenges we ran into
How to create the algorithm for allergy percentage personalized based on the known data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The ease of use and helpfulness of the app.
What we learned
That there are always things you cannot figure out before working on the actual idea.
What's next for Skin Sense
Building a viable product that people can use.
