SkillVerse AI – AI Career Operating System

Inspiration

Students today have access to thousands of courses, certifications, and job opportunities, yet many struggle to choose the right path. Career guidance is often generic, outdated, and disconnected from real industry demands. We wanted to build an intelligent AI mentor that provides personalized career guidance based on each student's goals, skills, and progress.

What It Does

SkillVerse AI acts as a personal AI career coach that analyzes a student's profile, resume, GitHub projects, and interests to generate a customized learning roadmap. It identifies skill gaps, recommends projects and certifications, conducts AI-powered mock interviews, reviews resumes, and matches users with internships, hackathons, and job opportunities.

How We Built It

The frontend was built using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS to create a modern and responsive user experience.

The backend is powered by FastAPI and Node.js with PostgreSQL for storing user profiles and progress.

AI capabilities use Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, speech analysis, and recommendation systems to generate personalized career advice and learning plans.
