Inspiration
We were inspired from resources like Stackoverflow and reddit where people could come together and share valuable resources which would otherwise not pop up in a general search.
What it does
Basically it serves as platform for users to come and create resources like links to books, blogs, videos, courses, etc. The users can use the resources and rate them accordingly. This helps bring otherwise rare and unseen resources to light based solely on how much other people liked it.
How we built it
We used Django and MongoDB Atlas for the backed. HTML, CSS, Bootstrap for the frontend.
Challenges we ran into
Teammates were reluctant to commit and some left but eventually we rallied together to make the platform we all liked.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Fantastic teamwork and learning. We are proud that we could manage around each others timezones so effectively.
What we learned
We learnt many new technologies and building under pressure since some of us were new to hackathons.
What's next for SkillUp
Adding the rest of the features we envisioned to really make it true to the vision.
