Inspiration

Opportunities like scholarships, internships, and learning resources exist everywhere, but they’re scattered across the web and hard to track. Many students miss out simply because information is fragmented, while companies struggle to find truly job-ready talent. SkillSync AI was inspired by this gap we wanted to turn unstructured opportunity data into intelligence that connects people to what actually fits.

What it does

SkillSync AI aggregates unstructured web data and transforms it into clean, ranked intelligence.

For individuals, it discovers and ranks scholarships, internships, and learning resources based on relevance and skill alignment. For industry partners, it provides AI-powered talent matching, analytics dashboards, and deep skill-gap insights to enable faster, smarter hiring decisions.

How we built it

We built SkillSync AI as an end-to-end data intelligence pipeline: Web scraping and ingestion of unstructured data Data cleaning, normalization, and skill extraction AI-driven ranking and matching logic Backend & APIs A modular API architecture handles data ingestion, matching logic, and analytics delivery. Frontend Experience We focused on clarity and speed users see what matters most, without noise.

Challenges we ran into

Messy, inconsistent web data Different sites describe the same skills in different ways. Normalizing this into a reliable skill graph was a major challenge.

Relevance vs volume Aggregating data is easy; surfacing the right opportunities is not. We had to carefully tune ranking logic to avoid information overload.

Skill inference Determining real capability from learning history and experience required thoughtful modeling beyond keyword matching.
