Inspiration

A team member on our team had completed a couple of coding-related bootcamps. Post-graduation, they struggled to find a full-time job in the troublesome tech market as of late.

What it does

SkillSync provides bootcamp graduates with a hub to discover potential project partners with varied expertise to create portfolio-ready projects that simulate industry-like workflows.

How we built it

Our designer created wireframes for the pages, while our front end devs implemented the wireframes as she went. Our backend dev implemented the matching algorithm and basic functionality to enable chat.

Challenges we ran into

Our access to Intel had expired, resulting in a force to pivot from our initial idea of fleshing out the Intel track. Initial ideation was another difficulty that we ran into, as we were bouncing off many ideas, but unsure of which direction would be the most fruitful.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our ability to come together after meeting the day of the hackathon. Furthermore, we were able to distribute tasks accordingly with frontend, backend, and design responsibilities. Additionally, we are proud of having a clean UI/UX experience that provides ease of use.

What we learned

Push to git often, and have fun!

What's next for SkillSync

As of now, our target audience is recent bootcamp graduates, but we want to broaden our horizons and provide a more catered experience for users of different backgrounds. We have room to grow in terms of providing a platform that allows users to work collaboratively while maintaining motivation.
