Back in university, my team and I often found ourselves stuck when we urgently needed help whether it was booking a last-minute haircut, hiring a tutor before an exam, or getting a plumber on a weekend. Platforms like Fiverr and TaskRabbit existed, but they were either too broad, too complex, or not focused on local, everyday needs.

That’s why we built SkillSwift a fast, lightweight app designed to instantly connect people with skilled local professionals and freelancers, all within a simple mobile interface.

SkillSwift allows users to:

- Discover nearby professionals by service (cleaning, lawn mowing, tutoring, etc.)

- Book appointments instantly with available times

- Chat with workers for real-time coordination

- Track Payments and service status clearly

Feature Description

Live Booking View - Users can browse available services, check worker availability, and book on the spot

In-App Chat - Users and workers can communicate instantly (built using Glide’s native chat module)

Service Management - Track status (Scheduled, Completed), Payment (Paid/Pending), and details by date/time

Role-Based UI - Different views for workers and clients (e.g., clients see booking + chat; workers manage tasks)

Local Focus - Services are categorized and presented by proximity, perfect for university communities or neighborhoods
