Inspiration

As a UX designer, I often found myself saving design articles or case studies “for later” and never going back to them. I wanted a simple, daily space where designers could practice, not just consume. That’s where the idea for SkillSnack came from: one quiz a day, small effort, real growth.

What it does

SkillSnack delivers a fresh, 10-question UX/UI quiz every day, no login, no setup. It’s built to help designers practice consistently, test their knowledge, and grow their design skills in just a few minutes a day. You complete the quiz, get your score, and unlock a related design resource or tip. It’s simple, habit-forming, and best experienced on desktop.

How we built it

I built the MVP using Bolt.new - a no-code tool that helped me launch super fast.

  • A clean daily quiz flow
  • A desktop-focused layout

Challenges we ran into

Ran out of tokens halfway through, so a few UI elements feel unfinished (especially mobile responsiveness).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built and launched a complete daily quiz app in one day
  • Created 10 research-backed UX/UI questions with real value
  • Designed a clean, focused desktop experience using no code (via Bolt)
  • Encouraged consistent learning through habit-forming micro-interactions
  • Shipped a working MVP despite token limits and UI constraints

What we learned

  • Working within token limits taught me to prioritize clarity and simplicity.
  • The no-code route helped me focus on UX and flow rather than complex dev tasks.

What's next for Skillsnack

  • Improve mobile responsiveness for a smoother experience
  • Add animations and playful microinteractions for better engagement
  • Introduce quiz categories (like accessibility, design systems, UX writing)
  • Add a streak tracker and personal score history
  • Expand the quiz bank with community-submitted questions
  • Collect feedback from real users to keep improving the flow
