Inspiration

The inspiration for SkillSeal is that we believe humans will not actually completely stop working, even though working is optional in a post-apocalyptic world. To ensure that people are actually telling the truth when offering services, we built an authenticator app to verify services in a world where anybody can pop up and offer them.

What it does

SkillSeal builds a profile catered to each person, and AI will generate questions based on user information, such as the region they are from, to personalise the questions, as some services are operated differently in other countries. Users can climb levels, and once they have at least achieved the lowest level, they are given a QR code that can be shared with others to verify their level.

How we built it

We built it using Figma, and as this project is mainly design-heavy, we focused on aspects such as colouring to make sure that users take it seriously as an authenticator app. We built the format based on popular skill-learning apps of today that have shown to be extremely successful.

Challenges we ran into

As my teammates and I aren't studying UI/UX, getting used to Figma Design was very hard, and as two of us are first-time users, using it effectively was difficult and took some getting used to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting used to Figma in the short span of three days is something we are proud of, as users who don't use it much, and we are proud of the design that we were able to come up with despite having only limited experience.

What we learned

We learned how to think quickly under pressure and make effective decisions within tight time constraints. We also developed our ability to collaborate as a team while learning and applying new UI/UX skills throughout the Product-thon.

What's next for SkillSeal

Just building an authenticator app is not enough to earn people's trust, so what's next is that we have to be able to pitch this to society and build real-world trust. This can be done through successful services coming out of our app and word of mouth carrying our reputation.
