Inspiration
If your best engineer quit tomorrow, would you know what you'd lost? Most companies wouldn't. Skills live in spreadsheets and people's heads, not in any system leaders can actually see. That gap inspired Skillscope, our solution to Question 1: 01Talent Readiness & Skills Intelligence Platform.
What it does
Skillscope maps a workforce's skills, flags which ones are critical and rare, shows who could step in if someone left, and gives leaders one simple readiness score. It also recommends how employees can close their own skill gaps.
How we built it
We started with a realistic sample company dataset, then built a skills graph, a risk-scoring layer, and a simple rule-based recommendation system.
Challenges we ran into
Telling "critical" apart from "rare" took real trial and error. Protecting privacy in small teams meant actually building the safeguard, not just describing it.
What we learned
The hardest part wasn't the logic — it was the definitions. A recommendation only matters if people can see why it was made.
