What it does
SkillOn is an AI-powered talent discovery and career development platform. Users can upload their CVs, certificates, portfolios, and connect their GitHub profiles. Using Gemini AI, the platform analyzes skills, identifies strengths and growth opportunities, generates personalized challenges, and provides career recommendations and learning roadmaps.
How we built it
We built SkillOn using Google technologies. The frontend provides an intuitive interface for users to upload their professional information. Gemini API powers the intelligent analysis engine, extracting skills and generating personalized insights. User data is securely stored and processed through Google Cloud services, allowing scalable and reliable AI-powered recommendations.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was designing a system capable of accurately understanding information coming from different sources such as CVs, certificates, and GitHub profiles. We also worked on creating meaningful AI-generated recommendations that are useful, personalized, and actionable for users.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully created a working platform that transforms scattered professional information into valuable career insights. We integrated Gemini AI to provide personalized skill analysis, challenge generation, and career guidance, making talent discovery more accessible and intelligent.
What we learned
Throughout this project, we learned how to integrate generative AI into real-world career development workflows. We also gained experience in prompt engineering, cloud deployment, user-centered design, and building AI systems that provide practical value to users.

Our next steps include adding LinkedIn integration, advanced skill assessments, company recruitment matching, AI-powered interview preparation, personalized learning paths, and a talent marketplace connecting users directly with employers and opportunities.
