Inspiration
SkillLens was inspired by seeing young professionals in emerging economies spend months learning skills that don’t match local job demand. I wanted a solution that helps learners focus on what truly matters—skills that are in demand in their city—so they can become employable faster and with less wasted effort.
What it does
SkillLens is a skill intelligence app that tracks real-time job market trends in cities like Lagos, Nairobi, and Accra. It recommends high-demand skills, provides gamified micro-challenges to practice them immediately, and links learners to short, actionable courses—turning passive learning into practical, employable skills.
What’s next for SkillLens
Next, we aim to pilot SkillLens in one city to validate engagement and skill-building impact. Then we plan to expand to multiple African cities, creating a localized skill map. Long-term, we envision a continental network that provides governments, NGOs, and educational institutions with real-time skill demand insights.
