Inspiration

I've watched talented graduates here in Cameroon stay jobless, not from lack of effort, but from lack of digital skills. A degree isn't enough anymore, and nobody hands people a map for what to learn next.

SkilioPath is that map: an AI companion that closes the digital skills gap, so people can land jobs, grow businesses, and keep up with a world that won't slow down.

What it does

SkilioPath diagnoses what a learner already knows, generates a personalized skill path around their goals, and teaches through an AI tutor that explains concepts in language they actually recognize, not a generic course catalog.

How I built it

I designed a tight build spec first (data contracts, AI call boundaries, a strict 5-screen flow), then built and tested the AI diagnostic logic in isolation before touching any UI. That discipline kept a 24-hour build from sprawling.

Challenges I ran into

I ran out of AI quota mid-build. It forced me to be deliberate with every call instead of iterating wastefully, and the product ended up leaner for it.

What I learned

Curriculum curation and AI-based grading turned out to be genuinely hard, rewarding problems. As a full-stack developer with no marketing background, I ran myself through SkilioPath's own diagnostic and lessons, and actually walked away knowing real digital marketing fundamentals. That was the clearest proof it works.

What's next

Scale beyond this demo: real support for professionals and business owners, and partnerships with universities and tech communities across Africa.
