What if there was one platform where anyone could list their skills, rent their products, and find trusted local services instantly?
We live in an era where everyone has something to offer, but opportunities are still scattered across different apps, websites, and social networks. Freelancers struggle to showcase their skills in a trusted environment. Locals want to rent out bikes, homes, or gear but lack a reliable audience. And people searching for services — whether a cook, designer, or photographer — are often left guessing.
SkillGrid combines the best of Airbnb, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook Marketplace into one trusted ecosystem.
💡 What Inspired Us We saw talented people around us — editors, drivers, coders, photographers, artists — unable to reach clients or showcase what they can do. Simultaneously, friends and families were looking for verified, local help but didn’t know where to go. The idea was clear: make it easy for people to hire, rent, or discover real skills and services around them.
🧱 How We Built It We started with user research, identifying gaps in the gig economy, creator tools, and rental marketplaces.
Designed a responsive frontend using React + Tailwind
