Inspiration

HR teams struggle to hire freshers efficiently because data is scattered across LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed, and manual résumé submissions. Searching, filtering, and matching skills takes too much time. Existing employee work-status apps don't include fresher recruitment modules, creating delays and wasted effort. We wanted to build a unified solution that makes fresher hiring fast, intelligent, and effortless.

What it does

SkillGap’s Fresher Talent Hub centralizes fresher profiles from multiple platforms into one dashboard. It fetches résumés, skills, photos, and LinkedIn links automatically, displays them in clean candidate cards, and lets HR search, filter, shortlist, and contact candidates quickly. AI analyzes skill gaps, recommends suitable roles, and identifies best-fit candidates.

How we built it

Integrated LinkedIn API (or mock data pipelines) for profile and résumé fetching

Built frontend using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern UI theme

Created candidate cards with skills, location, résumé link, and LinkedIn info

Implemented search and filter system (skill, role, location)

Added AI-based skill gap analysis and recommendation logic using Base44

Automated daily sync for updated fresher data

Working around API limits and restricted access from LinkedIn/other platforms

Normalizing data from multiple sources into a consistent format

Ensuring smooth UI performance with large datasets

Designing accurate AI recommendations despite varied skill patterns

What we learned

We learned how complex fresher data collection is across multiple job portals, how important it is to structure candidate metadata cleanly, and how AI can simplify talent evaluation. We also understood how critical UI consistency is for HR tools.
