SkillCoin: Hackathon Submission Story

Inspiration

SkillCoin was sparked by the need to make learning fast, rewarding, and career-focused. Targeting the $366B skills training market, we built a micro-learning app for the World’s Largest Hackathon using Bolt.new, offering blockchain certificates and job opportunities.

What It Does

SkillCoin delivers 2-3 minute AI-generated lessons (Python, Excel, etc.) rewarding users with SkillCoin tokens and blockchain-verified skill certificates. Users can redeem tokens for job opportunities via a freemium model.

How We Built It

Built in 7 days with:

• Bolt.new: React frontend with Tailwind CSS for mobile-first UI.
• Supabase: User auth and progress tracking.
• Process:
  1. Days 1-2: UI, auth, dashboard.
  2. Days 3-4: Micro-lessons.
  3. Days 5-6: Blockchain tokens, certificates.
  4. Day 7: Polished UX.

Challenges We Ran Into

• Time Pressure: Prioritized key features in 7 days.
• API Integration: Synced Supabase with multiple APIs.
• UX Design: Kept interface simple yet engaging.
• Demo: Fit all features into a video.
