In today’s world, degrees often matter more than real skills. Many talented learners—especially beginners—struggle to prove what they can actually do. Recruiters also face difficulty verifying whether a candidate truly possesses the skills they claim. This inspired us to build SkillChain, an AI-powered micro-certification system that validates skills using real-time video analysis.

What It Does

SkillChain allows users to record a short video while answering skill-based questions. The AI evaluates:

Communication clarity

Understanding of the topic

Confidence and delivery

Facial cues and engagement

Content accuracy

Based on the analysis, the system generates a micro-certificate that users can share anywhere. Recruiters get a separate dashboard to review candidates and verify certificates instantly How We Built It

Base44: Used to create the entire frontend, backend logic, user flows, and recruiter interface.

AI Models: Power real-time evaluation using speech analysis, sentiment detection, topic understanding, and facial engagement tracking.

Database: Stores user profiles, recruiter data, certificates, and skill categories.

UI/UX: Designed with a clean, futuristic look featuring neuron-based animations during the assessment process.

Challenges We Ran Into

Handling video input smoothly inside the browser workflow.

Ensuring AI analysis remains fast and accurate.

Creating a fair scoring system for diverse users.

Building separate views for users, recruiters, and admins within a no-code platform.

Maintaining a lightweight and reliable system within hackathon time limits.

Accomplishments We’re Proud Of

Built a complete working prototype from scratch.

Accurate real-time AI skill evaluation.

Smooth and intuitive UI for both users and recruiters.

Fully functional certification workflow.

What We Learned

Connecting AI capabilities with no-code tools effectively.

Designing efficient video analysis pipelines.

Creating fair and bias-reduced evaluation systems.

Delivering clean UI/UX under strict deadlines.

What’s Next

Multi-language skill assessments.

More diverse skill categories and improved AI scoring.

Blockchain-based authenticity verification.

A mobile app version for wider accessibility.
