💡 Inspiration
In this pandemic situation, students and faculty are stuck at home and E-learning has been proved to be the new and efficient method to teach students and get them engaged. Numerous online classes are conducted to teach students. And we all have experienced online classes are monotonous, the concept taught is not retrainable and practical are most important for subjects like chemistry, etc which require physical practice and visualization
💻 What it does
SkillCept is an AR-based web platform where students from any background can visit the site and learn various concepts with the help of 3D Models, which makes their understanding easier, and faster. SkillCept can help students achieve better results through visualization and full immersion in the subject matter. It utilizes 3D, Augmented reality. Give the real-life feel of various models e.g Earth, the Solar System, etc. Make the learning process more impactful and interesting. With an interactive live feature, students can ask the teacher their doubts instantly. They can also discuss among themselves.
🔨 How we built it
- React Js: For the frontend
- TypeScript: Frontend using React Typescript
- Firebase: For user authentication and database
- Three Js: For rendering 3D Models
- i18next: For adding multi-language functionality
- Tailwind CSS & Framer Motion: For styling and Animation
🧠 Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was to rendering the 3D model and adding AR functionality to them, which I overcome using three js and echoAR.
