Inspiration

We noticed that talented students and graduates face significant barriers when trying to break into competitive industries — from bias in automated hiring systems to misaligned skills and lack of personalized guidance. Inspired by the potential of AI to democratize access and improve career outcomes, we created SkillBridge AI.

What it does

SkillBridge AI offers users a suite of AI-powered tools to optimize their resumes, analyze skill gaps based on real industry demands, and practice interviews with personalized feedback — all accessible through a sleek, animated, and easy-to-use web platform.

How we built it

The platform is built entirely with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We focused on a modern UI with smooth animations inspired by glassmorphism and UI trends from uiverse. All AI features are simulated client-side for responsiveness, with user data persisted locally through browser storage. This approach enables easy deployment on static hosts like Render without backend dependencies.

Challenges we ran into

  • Balancing feature richness with simplicity to fit within the hackathon timeframe
  • Simulating AI functionality realistically without actual machine learning models or external APIs
  • Creating an engaging UI with animations that performed well on all devices
  • Designing meaningful skills gap and resume analysis algorithms from scratch
