SkillBridge 🚀
Turn student projects into proof of skill.
Inspiration
Students build projects throughout college, but their work is often reduced to a project title, a GitHub link, and a few resume bullet points.
We noticed a gap between what students build and what recruiters can actually understand from that work.
A student may list Java, SQL, Kafka, Python, or other technologies on a resume, but a recruiter may not immediately know how those skills were applied.
That inspired us to build SkillBridge — a platform that connects student projects with the skills they demonstrate.
💡 What is SkillBridge?
SkillBridge transforms student projects into evidence-backed skill portfolios.
Instead of:
Project → GitHub Link → Resume
SkillBridge creates:
Project → Evidence → Skill Map → Skill Passport
The goal is to create a common language between students, colleges, and recruiters.
⚙️ How It Works
1. Add a Project
Students add their project or GitHub repository.
2. Identify Evidence
SkillBridge maps technologies and implementation areas to evidence within the project.
3. Build a Skill Map
The project is converted into a structured representation of demonstrated skills.
4. Generate a Skill Passport
The student's projects contribute to a continuously growing profile of capabilities.
5. Recruiter View
Recruiters can explore a candidate's skills together with the projects and evidence supporting them.
🧩 Example
Consider a project such as ShopFlow — Intelligent E-Commerce Data Platform.
Instead of simply listing:
Kafka
SQL
Spark
Java
Spring Boot
