Inspiration

Students often struggle to find suitable internships and understand which skills they need to build for their future careers. We created SkillBridge to help bridge the gap between students' current skills and industry requirements.

What it does

SkillBridge is a student-focused platform designed to help students explore internship opportunities, identify skill gaps, and discover learning paths that match their career goals. It aims to make career planning and internship discovery easier and more accessible.

How we built it

We planned SkillBridge as a web-based platform with a simple, user-friendly interface. Our proposed technology stack includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Flask, and SQL for the frontend, backend, and data management. The platform can be extended with APIs and AI-based recommendations to improve internship and skill matching.

Challenges we ran into

One of our main challenges was identifying the needs of students and planning a simple way to connect their skills with relevant internship opportunities. We also considered how to organize information clearly and make the platform easy to use.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of developing an idea focused on a real problem faced by students. SkillBridge aims to bring skill development, career planning, and internship discovery together in one platform.

What we learned

We learned about project planning, user-focused design, web development concepts, database planning, and the importance of understanding user needs when building a technology solution.

What's next for SkillBridge

Our future plans include adding personalized internship recommendations, skill-gap analysis, learning resource suggestions, resume improvement tools, and a student dashboard to help users track their career progress.
