Traditional crafts are vanishing in the digital age. We were inspired to bridge the generational gap between master artisans and the modern workforce. SkillVintage was created to preserve, document, and transfer these invaluable heritage techniques before they are lost forever. ##What it does SkillVintage is an AI-powered knowledge-transfer platform. It digitizes artisan techniques, categorizes craft methodologies, and provides a structured environment for master artisans to mentor students, ensuring that ancient skills remain economically viable and relevant today. ##How we built it We utilized a high-integrity, single-file architecture to ensure the system is stable and easy to maintain. By using a secure JSON-ledger for knowledge tracking, we enabled a robust, audit-ready database that maps complex craft processes into actionable learning modules. ##Challenges we ran into Capturing the nuance of physical craft techniques in a digital format was our biggest hurdle. We overcame this by implementing a modular data-tagging system that breaks down complex artisan workflows into simple, step-by-step instructional nodes that are easy to track. ##Accomplishments that we're proud of We are proud of building a platform that honors cultural heritage while utilizing modern technology. Creating a system that successfully preserves human expertise through structured, persistent data logging is a significant milestone for cultural tech.
What we learned
We learned that technology is at its best when it serves as a bridge between the past and the future. Building SkillVintage deepened our understanding of knowledge engineering and the importance of preserving intangible cultural assets in a scalable digital format.
