Inspiration
Job searching can be frustrating when candidates have the right skills but their resumes don't match what companies are actually looking for. I wanted to build a tool that makes this process smarter, faster, and more personalized.
What it does
SkillSync AI analyzes a user's resume against a job description and helps identify relevant skills, missing keywords, and areas that can be improved. It can generate a tailored, ATS-friendly resume designed specifically for the target role.
How I built it
I built SkillSync AI with a modern web stack and integrated AI to analyze resumes and job descriptions. The interface was designed to keep the experience simple while turning complex resume optimization into an easy step-by-step workflow.
Challenges I faced
One of the biggest challenges was making the AI-generated resume both ATS-friendly and genuinely useful to recruiters. I also had to design prompts and workflows that could understand different job descriptions and adapt the resume accordingly.
What I learned
This project helped me understand how to integrate AI into a real-world product, design effective AI workflows, improve prompt quality, and build a user-focused application rather than just a simple AI demo.
