project was inspired by the growing need for quick, reliable, and transparent service access in daily life. I noticed how people struggle to find trusted plumbers, electricians, tutors, cooks, and drivers. That gap motivated me to build a platform that connects users and workers instantly, with real-time tracking and secure verification. What I Learned:- While building this system, I learned how to integrate multiple technologies together—Firebase Authentication, Firestore, live-location APIs, micro-loan KYC modules, and AI-driven assistance. I also explored UI/UX principles and understood the importance of optimizing workflows. I even used simple math models. How I Built It:- I structured the app using Firebase for backend, custom APIs for live tracking, React/Next.js for frontend, and an AI assistant trained with system prompts. I also added a micro-loan module with KYC, document upload, dashboards, and role-based access. Challenges Faced:- I struggled with authentication errors, map accuracy, permissions, and organizing data securely. Debugging these issues taught me resilience and cleaner architecture.n

SkillSwap began as a simple idea inspired by the daily challenges faced in underserved and remote communities. Many people struggled to access basic services like plumbing, electrical repairs, tutoring, cooking, or driving assistance, and financial inclusion was limited due to the lack of formal banking access. This understanding led to the creation of SkillSwap, a community-driven platform built around barter exchange, microloans, and real-time service access.

The earliest stage focused on mapping the core problems and designing a basic concept. After this, a prototype introduced the Barter Marketplace, allowing users to exchange skills or services without money. This stage also included the creation of worker and customer profiles and simple UI concepts. Once the foundation was set, SkillSwap expanded with a proper login system using Firebase Authentication, OTP login, and a dual-mode dashboard for workers and users.

Live location tracking was then added using the Google Maps API, enabling users to view worker distance and movement similar to Rapido or Uber. The platform evolved further with a comprehensive microloan and KYC module, including PAN and Aadhaar upload, OCR-based verification, and an EMI calculator.

To improve accessibility, the AI Assistant “Sahaayak” was introduced, allowing users to ask questions about banking, KYC steps, document requirements, and loan rules through voice or text. Wallet features, UPI payment support, worker payouts, and secure transaction logs were implemented next.

By the time SkillSwap reached public beta, it included barter services, real-time tracking, microloans, AI assistance, emergency helplines, and multilingual support. Later updates added community posting tools, allowing the team to share new features, app releases, screenshots, and code snippets directly with followers. This logging feature keeps the community engaged and helps users track the continuous growth of SkillSwap.
