Inspiration

Many high school student find it challenging to choose the right academic path after 12th grade . I built SkillScript to help students explore various career options ,streams ,and opportunities dynamically in one place.

What it does

SkillScript is an interactive web application that displays structured career tracks, entry requirement ,and guidance based on user selection .

How I built it

  • Frontend & UI: Built using Streamlit for a clean, responsive web interface.
  • Backend & Database: MySQL database integration to store and query career streams dynamically.
  • Programming Language: Python for application logic and database connections. Leveraged AI tools as a coding assistant to design the streamlit frontend UI and learn web implementation on the fly .

Challenges I ran into

Managing structured database connections and dynamically fetching query results in Streamlit while maintaining smooth UI performance.

Accomplishments that I proud of

Successfully building a full-stack working web application end-to-end as a solo high school developer.

What I learned

  • Integrating SQL databases directly with Python web applications.
  • Structuring dynamic web interfaces for better user experience.
  • Managing complete project workflows solo.

What's next for Skill Script

Adding authentic user feedback systems, expanding career stream data, and introducing personalized recommendation filters.
