Inspiration
At Cegeka, I find it hard to find the right person to approach when you have questions about a specific skill (technology, HR, coaching, advise, ...). Mailing lists, communication channels (like slack) and other platforms help, but they lack a global search functionality to find the right person to pose your question to.
With Skill finder, we'll try to resolve this by hooking into a data source (like a CV tool) and expose a global search on skills. So that a user can find the right person to ask his question to.
What it does
Aggregates skill data based on an external resource (CV tool) and allows you to add skills to your profile manually. The results are searchable, an end user can look up a specific skill and find the people that have experience in this field. As a bonus, reporting can be done on the data (how many people have knowledge of X).
Knowledge of a skill can be expressed in the following levels: -Notion of -Novice -Intermediate -Advanced
