Inspiration
We noticed that many netizens, particularly the elderly and younger students, were falling victim to phishing emails and suspicious websites. Even students at our university are constantly being scammed and hacked through deceptive emails. We wanted to make an accessible tool that can prevent these incidents from happening.
What it does
The main page "Sketchy" allows for a link to be pasted into the searchbar. It is powered by Phishy, a PatriotAI agent. Phishy checks scans websites for suspicious content and gives a short analysis and a confidence level. We also have an extension for it called "Phishy Ad Attacker." It blocks ads on websites as well as tracks cookies. There's also a Phishy chatbot that helps check websites and emails for legitimacy.
How we built it
The base frontend was designed on Google AI Studio. For our AI, we built it off of Patriot AI.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting the frontend to the backend, implementing PatriotAI into the site.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating an API from scratch to connect to PatriotAI from our site and extension. Connecting a database.
What we learned
How to create an API. How to setup a database.
What's next for Sketchy
Improving the functionalites of the site to provide more analytics that are also digestable to the general user. Using a stronger API.
