## Inspiration 🧼
🎨 From Insult to Icon
The name SKeTCHeeTRoLL ©™ didn't start in a boardroom; it started with a moment of digital friction. After being labeled an "old sketchy troll" on a dating app simply for being honest about my age, I faced a choice: let the label stick, or pick up a paintbrush.
The Reclamation: I chose the brush. Alongside my late friend and collaborator, Stan Jackson, we transformed the character into a sweet artist who paints over the world’s rough edges. We turned a derogatory jab into a high-end brand of self-expression.
The Vision: With 32 years of experience as a Security Sergeant, I’ve seen how conflict escalates. As an artist and developer, I know how to de-escalate it. This app is the digital evolution of that journey—performing Digital Alchemy to wash the world’s mouth out with soap and sparkles.
## What it does: The "Soap & Sparkles" Workflow
SKeTCHeeTRoLL ©™ shifts the moderation paradigm from punishment to transformation.
1. Interception & Analysis
The app monitors the comment stream in real-time. Using the Devvit platform and generative AI, it scans for high-toxicity markers, harassment, or "sketchy" behavior.
2. The Transformation Logic
Once a comment exceeds the safety threshold, the original text is sequestered and passed through the Alchemy Engine. The AI chooses a "Whimsical Persona" to rewrite the message:
- The Farting Godmother: Replaces anger with "gassy" apologies and old-world charm.
- The Victorian Poet: Turns modern slurs into complex, 19th-century grievances.
- The Rubber Ducky: Replaces text entirely with "Quacks" and bath-time emojis.
3. Visual & Linguistic Masking
Using italics, bolding, and emoji "confetti," the app ensures the original negative energy is physically buried under a layer of sparkles.
## Technical Specification (LaTeX)
The de-escalation factor ($D$) is calculated based on the absurdity of the replacement ($A$) versus the original toxicity ($T$):
$$D = \frac{A \times \text{Sparkles}}{T}$$
The "Chaos Guardian" operates on a threshold logic to determine when to trigger:
$$T_{threshold} > \text{Toxicity Score}$$
## Built-in Security 🛡️
Drawing from 32 years of security expertise, the system includes a "Troll Cooldown" period. If a user is "cleaned" by the Godmother more than three times in an hour, the app applies a soft-mute, suggesting they "take a bubble bath and reflect."
## How we built it
We utilized vibe coding to orchestrate the core logic, leveraging the Devvit platform to build a native Reddit experience. The "Alchemy Engine" is powered by generative AI, which acts as a real-time translator between "Toxic Input" and "Whimsical Output."
## Challenges we ran into
The biggest hurdle was the "Linguistic Pivot"—ensuring the AI captured the spirit of the humor. We fine-tuned the Farting Godmother persona so her interventions felt disarming rather than annoying. Balancing rigid security protocols with the fluid, "chaos-friendly" nature of Reddit required constant testing and iteration.
## Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Reclaiming the Narrative: Turning a personal insult into a functional, protective tool.
- The "Soap & Sparkles" Protocol: Creating a system that makes people laugh while they’re being corrected.
- High-End Identity: Bringing a streetwear aesthetic to the often-dry world of bot development.
## What we learned
Building for the Reddit ecosystem taught us the importance of community-first engineering. We discovered that "gassy whimsy" is a surprisingly effective de-escalation tactic in high-tension digital spaces!
## What's next for SKeTCHeeTRoLL ©™ 🚀
- Persona Expansion: Introducing the "Southern Belle" and the "Tech Support Guru."
- Physical Integration: Connecting Reddit actions to our real-world custom silk flags and apparel line.
- Advanced Alchemy: Refining our LaTeX-driven logic to predict and stop "Troll Migration" before it starts.
SKeTCHeeTRoLL ©™: Wash the world's mouth out, one quack at a time. 🧌✨🧼🫧
