Inspiration: Our inspiration came from other Python-generated games and our passion for game development. Game inspiration from Hollow Knight.
What it does: The game features a 2-D terrain and a character that the player controls. The player must survive against an endless onslaught of skeletons with a ranged weapon that they can use to their advantage by pressing the space bar. The game restarts when the player's health bar is empty, and the game can run endlessly forever.
How we built it: Using the "pygame" library in Python.
Challenges we ran into: Started with too big of an idea to implement. Had to lessen it to an endless survival game instead.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Everyone's teamwork and cooperation, as well as the fact that we were able to finish our first hackathon ever.
What we learned: Project planning and distribution of tasks between all members of the team.
What's next for Skeletal Skirmish: We originally had many ideas for our game, but were not able to implement them due to time constraints. One of the main ideas that we had was a shop system in which a player can purchase to gain further upgrades as the game progresses. Other ideas included a level system in which a player can accomplish one level and go to the next and a 3-D map.
