Inspiration
We started with a simple, universal question: “What did you do this weekend?” On the surface, it’s small talk. But underneath, it reveals how many of us imagine a very different life than the one we live day to day. The film explores that tension — being stuck in an office grind, dealing with uninspiring jobs and difficult bosses, while secretly wishing for freedom, family, joy, and escape.## What it does
How we built it
We combined multiple tools to create this short film: CapCut for editing and assembling the story. 11 Labs for generating the narrator’s voice and musical layers. Freepik AI Video for creating surreal imagery and dreamlike transitions. ChatGPT for scripting, storyboarding, and shaping character voiceovers.
Challenges we ran into
Getting AI video tools to produce consistent characters and close-ups was tricky — hands and faces often glitched. Stitching dreamlike scenes into office reality without breaking the flow required careful editing. Balancing humor, surrealism, and emotional resonance in a short runtime was a constant challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a full narrative film in a very short timeframe using mostly AI tools. Turning an ordinary office scenario into a cinematic exploration of hidden desires. Building strong team collaboration under pressure — “SK-AIs The Limit” wasn’t just our name, it became our mindset.
What we learned
How to push AI tools beyond their defaults to tell human stories. That small, everyday questions can be a powerful frame for larger emotional truths. Collaboration between human creativity and AI technology can open up whole new ways of filmmaking.
What's next for SK-AIs The Limit
We want to refine this approach into a series: more short films exploring the gap between surface life and inner imagination. Our next step is experimenting with longer narratives, more consistent character design, and tighter integration of voiceover and visuals. Ultimately, we want to develop a toolkit for filmmakers to use AI as a creative partner.
