Sitflow

Inspiration

Sitflow started from a simple problem: it is surprisingly easy to spend hours at a desk without noticing how long you have been sitting.

When people are focused on work, studying, coding, designing, gaming, or creating, healthy habits are often the first thing to disappear. You forget to stand up, stretch, drink water, or simply look away from the screen for a moment.

Most reminder apps solve this with basic timers. We wanted Sitflow to feel different.

The idea behind Sitflow is to create a healthier workday without constantly interrupting it. Instead of asking users to manage another complicated wellness routine, Sitflow quietly works alongside them and introduces short, manageable breaks throughout the day.

Our goal became simple:

Work long hours. Feel better doing it.

What It Does

Sitflow helps people build healthier work habits through scheduled breaks and gentle reminders.

A Sitflow break can include simple activities such as:

  • Standing up
  • Stretching
  • Drinking water
  • Resting your eyes
  • Breathing exercises
  • Short movement or posture resets

Users can configure their work schedule and how frequently they want breaks. During an active workday, Sitflow keeps the experience intentionally minimal: users mainly see when their next break is coming and what they need to do next.

The goal is not to turn the workday into a workout. Sitflow focuses on small actions that are realistic to complete while working.

How We Built It

Sitflow is being built as a cross-platform mobile application using Flutter.

A major part of the project was designing the break system itself. Rather than treating standing, stretching, hydration, and other activities as completely separate features, we designed the experience around a central Break flow.

A workday follows a simple loop:

Work
  ↓
Break reminder
  ↓
Short activity
  ↓
Complete break
  ↓
Continue working
