Sion Kids Read

Inspiration Sion Kids Read was created to address a growing need for children's educational tools that blend foundational literacy with positive core values. We wanted to build an engaging mobile experience that makes reading fun while helping children develop character and strong moral principles. What it does Sion Kids Read is an interactive mobile reading app designed to nurture young readers. It delivers engaging digital stories and learning experiences centered on building reading comprehension, positive character traits, and essential life values. How we built it The app was built as a cross-platform mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS). We developed the application using Replit for rapid prototyping and cloud deployment. Payment processing and backend flows were configured to integrate seamlessly with standard app store workflows. Challenges we ran into Deploying across different build environments presented significant configuration challenges. We navigated complex Android build setups, resolved EAS build errors, and ensured proper configuration for Google Play Store compliance. Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully built, tested, and deployed a fully functional Android mobile application to the Google Play Store closed testing track. Most importantly, we brought a meaningful educational vision to life. What we learned We gained deep technical experience with Expo EAS build workflows, Android release management, and cross-platform deployment pipelines.
